For Fall / Winter 2014, Consortium release a one-to-one reissue of the original ZX 550, a shoe that has sadly been missing from adidas's own archive so far.
Ensuring the shoe is treated with the utmost respect, this version stays true to the 1986 original in every detail - from the colourway and materials used to the unique outsole construction. A combination of mesh, synthetic suede, and leather is expertly executed in black, grey, white and flashes of red on the upper; whilst the model’s distinctive midsole is delivered in black-and-white.
In order that the ZX550 could be brought back to life as close as possible to the original, the Consortium design team were lucky enough to borrow an OG model from London based collector Robert Brooks, who first refreshed the silhouette last year as his contribution to the highly limited adidas Collectors Project.
