New adidas Consortium Saturday 3.19.16

adidas Consortium Tubular Doom PK Special Forces
Breaking new grounds one step at a time in a true pioneering spirit, adidas brings us another exciting version of its revolutionary Tubular Doom. The sand-colored sneaker takes inspiration from technical equipment used by special forces - a field where one just cannot settle for compromises.
As with their elite gear, the requirements for state-of-the-art footwear move along the lines of functionality, comfort, and durability. Add that to today’s often demanding 3-Dimensional inner-city terrain where distance, depth and height define a new challenging surrounding for our everyday lives. In this maze of fractal environments, the special take on the Tubular Doom guarantees maximum maneuverability in any situation, in any direction.
On the intersection of design and performance, the adidas Consortium Tubular Doom PK stands for deserts and urban spaces alike. Both are challenging landscapes where one has to adapt to a variety of sometimes demanding conditions. For extra movability on any turf along the way, the adidas Primeknit construction as well as its bold midfoot elastic straps guarantee freedom and stability. Nylon ripstop side panels add another technical layer to the clean, yet sophisticated silhouette. Finished off by a white outsole, the highly versatile execution makes this a stand-out release, adding to adidas’ recent track record of spot-on innovations. Other details include military-inspired branding on the heel straps, an extra set of laces, as well as the Consortium branded insole.
Once again, adidas Consortium taps into new spheres off the beaten path with its latest addition to the Tubular Doom family. And similar to the world’s top military units, one has to come prepared in unconventional terrains. Because after all, the only way to lead is still to go first.

New adidas Consortium In Store Only 1.30.16

adidas Consortium Tour: Tubular Doom Primeknit KITH
As a part of the Consortium Tour adidas invites us to tag along on a 12-month journey around the globe to discover some of the finest footwear gems – just like back in the day when you had to roam endless alleys for that one pair you've been aching to get your hands on. And what better place to start this tour than the birthplace of sneaker culture itself – New York City.
That's why our first stop is Ronnie Fieg's very own KITH: the go-to place for satisfying any footwear aficionado's latest cravings in the Big Apple. With an unquenchable thirst for the new, the forward-thinking entrepreneur has carved out a solid spot for his renowned high-end store as THE heavy hitter in the sneaker realm.
New York City – epitome of the modern metropolis – a harsh urban landscape of steel, glass, and concrete inspired the choice of colors and fabrics for KITH's Tubular Doom Primeknit. The overall design reflects all facets of the fast-paced New York lifestyle which becomes even more demanding during the winter months. The shoe's smart but streamlined design boasts functional Primeknit technology in the form of a wrap-around sock-like upper supported by a woolen cage for added warmth. Paired with the robust marled elastic straps at the quarter panel and forefoot further stabilization and protection against the elements are guaranteed. The grey hues of the Tubular Doom as well as its clean off-white sole, complemented by Kith's slogan “Just Us” on the heel guard, add to the no-nonsense aesthetic of this first release on the Consortium Tour.
Fashionable and technical, the look pays homage to a city whose style always seems so effortless. Embodying this NY attitude in the Tubular Doom's very DNA, Ronnie Fieg has yet again demonstrated a deep-rooted understanding for contemporary sneaker executions.
